Tomb of Saint Pio
In the Footsteps of Saint Pio ♿ Accessible
Since 2010 the body of Saint Pio has rested in the lower church of the great church designed by Renzo Piano. The saint lies in a glass case, and the line of pilgrims moves slowly in silence between walls covered with Rupnik's golden mosaics.
It is the central moment of every pilgrimage to San Giovanni Rotondo. On feast days the wait can be long: best to come early in the morning.
